Nebraska Petition Aims to Legalize Marijuana
The proposed constitutional amendment would add Article XIX, which says, “The state of Nebraska and any subdivision thereof shall make no law regarding the private, non-commercial growing and consumption of cannabis, also known as marijuana. The Legislature shall enact a fair and equitable method of regulation and taxation regarding the commercial growing and consumption of cannabis.”
Nebraska is the first state to try for complete legalization, according to petitioner Frank Shoemaker.
